| Jim and his new toy! |
I also planted the 2 six packs of flowers (carnation family) which I found at Bishop Nursery. These filled in the gaps in the whiskey barrels quite nicely. I sure hope they survive this heat wave! I didn't plant the two Photynia yet. We still need to move these around the yard a bit to decide where we want them. We have a couple of ideas but aren't totally committed to them yet.
Jim finally got a chance to try out his new lawn mower! It has been sitting in the garage begging to be used for a week now but we have been super busy with work and/or it has been raining! He mowed the weeds/sedges, grasses out back by the creek. He loves his new lawn mower.
I also harvested all the garlic and left it out to dry. Later this week we will bring it inside to cure. The heads are pretty small but the plants were clearly done. I think we must have planted this too deep as well.

| First Zucchini |
Finally, we found our first zucchini!! It is on the volunteer squash plant which came up in the bed which housed our super producer last year and which I transplanted a couple of weeks ago. The squash was about the size of a ping pong ball. Upon closer inspection, I found four more babies on the same plant. I hope they are as good as they were last year!
