The garden grew like crazy during the three hot days we were gone. Early girl grew more than a foot and has so many tomatoes set! All but three plants have tomatoes now... Marmande, orange Russian and solar flare are, I think the only ones without fruit set yet.
The blackberries are starting to ripen and are yummy. Most of the chile plants have set fruit!
The bad news.... We've been checking squash daily for squash bug, eggs and larvae. This evening I found my first squash bug and he was huge! Still no eggs. Lots of leaf hoppers everywhere and I think it is flea beetles devouring the eggplant. We keep spraying everything infested these two bugs with blasts of water and will hopefully hit the eggplant with neem oil soon.
The first tassles are on the corn!! Hope we can keep the corn ear worms away this year.
Some of the yellow peaches are getting devoured by the birds. They are still rock hard. I think we might break down and drape the fruit with bird netting this weekend.
