MORE GROOMING

Today, Steve came by to start clearing some deadwood out of trees and limbing some of the trees to reduce ladder fuels and improve fire safety.  We probably have another day or two of this work to be done but it already looks much better and feels cleaner.  It also lets more light into some of the areas that need it while keeping enough shade up high.

Steve working hard clearing dead limbs!

Look how clean it is!  Doing our best to create defensible space.

We also went back to the nursery to buy that Sunset Red Maple.  We are so eager to plant these two beautiful trees but realize we need to wait till this limbing project is further along to prevent injury to them.  This has been a great week of stay at home vacation!  We got lots of planting and work done in the yard... of course there is always much more to do but we are both back to the daily grind tomorrow!
