THE FOREST

Burgundy Belle Maple by the garden waiting to be planted
Today we went back to the  nursery to visit their half price sale because I'm obsessing about the Maple...We picked out a burgundy belle maple and I wanted to get the sunset red maple they had too but I was told that one was enough....  Fair enough.  As soon as we got home, I was told.... maybe you are right, we do need the sunset red maple too!  Next trip, if it's still there.  We need to hold of on planting this one till we get tee locusts limbed of deadwood as it will be in the drop zone.

The new Austrian pine
So we planted and put in irrigation to the Austrian pine from Big Trees Nursery this afternoon.   Then I started wondering about people telling me I have a plant problem... I keep buying them... So we took a walk around the yard to count how many trees we have planted in the not quite 20 months we have lived here.... the Austrian pine we planted today is 46!  The maple sitting by the garden waiting will be 47!  And that is not counting shrubs.   Hmmmmm, maybe my friends have a point?

We were so excited to come home from the nursery and see that we had a new cover on our hideous sewer pipe.  For some reason this pipe has always really bothered me!  It serves the entire project and goes across our creek before going underground.  I am so happy with this new cover... Especially since staining it.  Of course, while putting on the second coat of stain, I slipped on a rock in the creek and splashed stain all over myself and the cover.... fortunately NOT in the creek as I was quick with the brush but it made more of a mess on me than you can tell by the photo!

Oops!
The sewer pipe cover - finished

After this fiasco, a shower and relaxing by the creek was required!!!
