I suspect I saw a few whiteflies this morning - and again this evening so we delayed planting. Instead we sprayed with insecticidal soap made according to the farmer's almanac recipe. We also sprayed some of the plants (rhubarb and butternut squash) with baccillus thuringiensis. Hopefully this will help take care of whatever is eating the leaves of these plants... we suspect a larva/worm type creature. the soap should help with whiteflies but we need to repeat and will also repeat with neem oil. We really want to get the new tomatoes in the ground but I do NOT want to have the same results.... fingers crossed we will have some luck.
