SUNDAY IN THE GARDEN

Garden overview
Today we finally planted our tiny sweet potato slips.  They have been growing for weeks and weeks are are still very small but the sweet potato itself is starting to rot so we decided to plant them.

Today we went for a bike ride and then got busy in the garden.  The warm weather is bringing lots of exciting new growth.  Spring is so exciting down here!  Tiffany is up rehabbing from surgery and bored so we put her to work in the garden.  Dave and Tiffany harvested the first round of fava beans today.

Meanwhile,  I was harvesting Kale and cutting back old chard.  I also harvested and pulled the spinach which had begun to bolt.  This gave me room to plant radishes and arugula.

After a long day gardening, weeding, composting, harvesting etc.... all on top of a bike ride, we felt we deserved a treat so moved to the shade by the creek for win and cheese and crackers.  Lovely!
