BACK IN THE GARDEN

Grapevine starting to grow
After too much time out of town I finally took a couple of days off at home.  Yesterday I got busy weeding and did the front yard between the deck and the creek and all along the south side yard.  It looks so much better.

Today we started out with a beautiful mountain bike ride up to Ainsley Meadow and wore out the little dog.  She mostly laid around the rest of the day.  We got to work in the yard and fed all the trees and shrubs.
Shoveling dirt
And more dirt
And more.... We are getting good at this!
We also worked on the potato bed (#12).  We got it leveled and pounded rebar in the corner blocks to hold it in place then began filling it.  The truck is finally empty of dirt and the bed is only half way full.  I think we might need to get more compost to get this one finished.  We are hoping to get our potatoes planted this weekend.  The sweet potato slips are finally getting close to being ready to plant.  I'm thinking these will go in whiskey barrels, or in pots along the garden fence.

For now, I'm beat and ready to relax.  Wish we had more days off at home.
