| Jim spraying Paula Plum |
We got home from work in time to do a couple of chores in the garden tonight. Jim tackled spraying the orchard with dormant oil while I cleaned up the hollyhocks. We are way behind the curve with spraying. We completely forgot about this task. We now have reminders in our calendars to start spraying on Thanksgiving, New Years and Valentine's Day. Hopefully we can still spray with lime sulfur in two weeks. After that I doubt we'll have a chance to spray again with dormant oil as everything is growing so fast!

| Cleaned up hollyhocks ready to take off! |
The hollyhocks are taking off. It was nice to weed them and clear out the leaf litter around their bases. They were spectacular last year and we are hoping for a repeat performance this year. Unfortunately they got a bit decimated by the rogue flood control work done in the neighborhood. We will have to do a bit of earthwork to re-stabilize this growing area.
Happy Farmer Jim!
