RAIN

Garden Overview After the Rain
We've had a lovely rainy weekend.  This means not much work in the garden but lots of work indoors.  Finally this afternoon we got out for a bit and discovered that the lemon cucumbers sprouted!  Those will be a nice addition.  We will be growing them on the final panel of the pea and bean trellis.  This will be the first time I've tried to get cucumbers to climb.

We've had several preying mantis egg cases around the yard which we've been watching all spring.  We had just about given up hope that they woudl ever hatch when today we saw this guy crawling around on a potato plant!!  Very exciting!  We LOVE our preying mantises.
Raspberries are still ripening
Blackberries are starting to ripen too!
YUM!!
We weeded all the veggie beds today.  The weeds grow incredibly fast and seem to LOVE the rain!

Something is eating the Eggplant
Eggplant bed looks much better without weeds!

Today Xena told us that she LOVES sugar snap peas!  Fortunately, she seems to know not to harvest them herself.  She is willing to wait for us to harvest them for her!
More sugar snap peas, please!

Lemon Boy and Black from Tula have fruit.  We are eagerly watching for more of the plants to set fruit.
