MORE SOWING

Today I filled in the rest of the root vegetable bed (#7).  We were originally going to plant in series so this bed wouldn't all come ready at the same time.  We later realized that this makes sense for fast growing veggies like lettuces and radishes but not so much for slower growing root veggies which can be harvested quite young or left to grow to full size.

I also got bed 3 planted with sweet corn, acorn squash and butternut squash.  There is one more spot for a zucchini.  I'm not sure if I'll wait for another volunteer Marrow or if I should just plant some zucchini from seed.

Bed 4 was on the agenda today but it needs to be weeded and to have irrigation set up.  I ran out of time after planting three more aspens and getting the basil and black chili pepper seeds started in their mini crate greenhouse.
