GET OUT OF JAIL FREE OR FEED THE DEER?

Orchard Overview (no more deer fencing) 

We hadn't seen deer around here for weeks and we HAVE seen lots on the drive up to Mammoth so I couldn't wait any longer.  I pulled the fences from the orchard!  Also from all the trees on the south side yard except for the flowering plums.  Those got munched in the fall and are still so small that they could get decimated if the deer come through.

Rescue Lilac

I'm sitting on the front deck enjoying the heady aroma of the lilacs!  The "bargain" lilac I got from the Bishop Nursery end of season orphan sale a year or two ago is the most heavily flowered one of all.  I love my rescue projects!

Jim has been working on the irrigation in the veggie garden all day (and around the yard).  We are ready for the tomatoes which I think are coming soon!  This time of year is so much fun down here!  It's 6:30 and still lovely and warm enough to be sitting out in shorts!
