NEW TRELLIS CONFIGURATION AND PLANTING SUGAR SNAP PEAS!

New trellis configuration
We amended bed 9 this evening and after a few days of playing with our fencing scraps, came up with a new trellis design for the sugar snap peas this year.  We have one piece on hand but need yet another to complete this structure.  This will allow for serial planting of plenty of sugar snap peas followed by yard long red beans with four blocks of greens in between the trellises.  I think/hope this will work nicely.  We also need to find something (rod, dowl, pvc) to frame the top of this structure for additional stability of the "wings."
Another view of the trellis
Once the irrigation system was in place and the trellis partially built, we planted a row of sugar snap peas along the southern piece of trellis,  half inside and half outside the panel.  It might be a bit early and a bit cold but we are experimenting and plan to add a row on each panel in two week intervals.
