MORE TREES

Happy Maple 2 starting to turn red!
We planted four more trees today!  We put the weeping candied crabapple in by the red oak off the deck.  We like it so much we had to go get another one!  The smaller one is out at the corner of the orchard by the driveway where we'll see it as we come home.

Candied weeping crabapples #2 & #1

We need to limb those locust trees around it up high so the new tree will get plenty of sun.  In fact, today we are talking with someone to get an estimate on cleaning up a lot of the lower limbs of the locust and elms around the property mostly along the creek- to reduce ladder fuels for fire safety.
Himalayan Pine #4 next to his sibling..ready for planting!
We also planted a fourth Himalayan pine.  While we were at Big Trees this week we stumbled upon Everest and company's brother...  the three we planted in the early spring are doing really well so we adopted their remaining  brother and got him in the ground.
Adding irrigation to the new Asian Pear
We also found another Tawara Asian pear tree and planted that in the orchard.  Our existing one is the only tree which gave us fruit again this year and we both really like those pears.  I also think these are beautiful trees.  Hopefully we can keep them safe from the deer long enough for them to grow up.
