The great pumpkin!
Brrrr it feels like Autumn!! it has been in the 40's and 50's at night but still up to the 70's most (but not all) days. We were out of town this past weekend so did not get to work in the garden at all!
This evening's harvest was pretty nice! Lots of things are still producing! We have a fair number of tomatoes ripening slowly now. The eggplants are still growing and we harvested one today! The beans (green and red, pole and bush) all look like they are finishing up. I harvested a basket full today but there are a lot that we either missed harvesting in time or which dried up rather than ripening.
Harvesting beans
Last night we found a spaghetti squash which was cracked while still on the vine. We harvested and cooked that and it was delicious! We also harvested more chile peppers tonight, a bunch of blackberries (with more ripening) and a few raspberries!
Finally, we found a surprise gift of garlic on our front porch tonight with directions to plant NOW! I wonder who left that???
We are looking forward to planting a few more fall crops this weekend as well as five (yes 5) more trees and the yew and flowers in the new pots by the front door! Gardening definitely makes the seasons more fun!
