Phew!!! What a day! We did a run to check out fall color this morning.. not too far but a fair bit of climbing! Then came home to garden breakfast omelettes for brunch! YUM!!! After brunch we got to work digging holes. These may have been the hardest holes we've dug yet! More rock jenga in the holes and some of the dirt was so hard we couldn't tell if we were hitting rocks or not. Jim actually talked me into giving up on a monster rock after working on it for over an hour. We got it moving but it wasn't anywhere close to being ready to come out. We ended up planting that tree on top of the rock. It was deep enough and the hole is big enough that the roots should have plenty of room. Not ideal, but not room to move the hole over.

So we planted two more maples, one is a Red Sunset and the other a Burgandy Belle (Names TBD). We also planted two of our three Arbor Vitae, Larry and Moe and Curly - Curly has to wait because we got too tired(thanks Tiffany for those names)! I love the little parklike area we are creating on the other side of the creek!
