So much to catch up on... we were out of town for 3 days on our fundraiser bike ride and haven't caught up since! the grapes are amazing. we harvest our two "bunches" just over a dozen grapes total from the himrod vine and they were delicious!! the vines are all the way to the top of the arbor and starting to fill in now.
Grape Harvest 7/29
We've begun harvesting some incredible chile peppers; hungarian wax, Anaheim, chile de arbol. we got our first tomatoes, three sweet olive tomatoes! There is a fair bit of fruit set on about half of our tomato plants. The early pole beans (which look more like bush beans) have plenty of beans ready to harvest. The new yardlong beans are starting to climb the trellis. The true bush beans are beginning to produce. Many ears of corn... one or two getting close to harvest. Unfortunately we seem to have a new bug invasion (baby aphids?) on the corn. Need to hit those plants hard with water and with Neem oil again today. I harvest my first lemon cucumber this afternoon and it is beautiful....

| Garden Overview 8/5/15 |
We've been eating gigantic zucchini... it seems to go from infancy to monster sized in 3 days! Even the huge ones are amazing grilled! We had pasta with chard and garlic and zuccini from the garden last week nad it was great. we have been harvesting a few raspberries, black berries and strawberries...

Stone Pine by the Creek "Wolfie" the Vanderwolf Pine
This past weekend we planted four and a half trees. Our two dawn redwoods (Tony Orlando and Dawn) went in the ground near the creek. We also planted Wolfie (our little vanderwolf pine rescue) and Pietro (our italian stone pine). The red oak was the half tree; we are not entirely sure where we are putting him so we just dug a hole and set his pot in it so he wouldn't blow over in the winds we've been having. I think he might be close to where he will stay but it will take a while to know for sure.
