Garden overview
The garden is really starting to grow well and it is so lovely to walk through and see the changes. It is finally starting to look like a garden again.

 |
| Blackberries |
The blackberries are flourishing this year. They seem to really like the pruning job we did. We might have to try making jam this year.
 |
| Blueberries |
All three blueberry bushes are producing this year. The new one, just a bit but the two older ones are magnificent. We added soil acidifier and compost and it seems to be helping. Also, the timing with the bird migration seems to be a bit different this year. We still do need to protect these with bird netting.
 |
| Corn |
The corn is going nuts. Bed 11 is much taller than bed 10.... not sure about why but it all looks good. The squash are slow going but they are growing. Hopefully we can stay on top of the leaf hoppers and squash bugs this year.

| Garden overview |
We had a great day in the garden today. We took time to weed and tie up the grape vines and harvest kale. We found our first baby grapes on the vine today.

Look.... grapes!

| Kale harvest |
The tomatoes are growing well. We have fruit on almost all of the plants now. We are trying really hard not to count our tomatoes before they ripen but we are dreaming of fresh tomatoes with basil and mozzarella and olive oil, and pizza, and salads, and salsas and ......

| Solar flare tomato |
We also got a chance to transplant one of the marrow plants today. We decided to try this instead of just thinning it. It looked great..... until it didn't. I think with patience and water it will perk up. While these plants don't like being transplanted, they are pretty hardy.
Marrow transplanted, withering, withered
Today was our first onion harvest! The onions have been doing great and are all getting ready for harvest. Suzanne came over for dinner so she was the lucky recipient of our first onion. (Hi to Suzanne's mom, you'll have to come visit).

We also finally planted the yard long red beans to replace the sugar snap peas. I am looking forward to having those this summer.
