PLANTING FLOWERS & HARVESTING ARUGULA

Morning Arugula Harvest for Friends
This morning we harvested arugula to share!  Nothing like a morning harvest with good strong coffee!  The basil on the front porch is doing quite well (over my left shoulder) and the basil starts in the bin are still growing oh so slowly!  The yew trees have lots of new growth and are beginning to fill in around their bases where the deer munched them last fall.  The newly planted violas help them look a bit more presentable.

Jim Firing up the Pump
Jim worked on the pump today.  We were hoping to move to using the pump for irrigating, but it still isn't working.  This system never really was finished properly and we are having issues with the silt clogging the filters.  Hopefully we can get this figured out this summer.

This evening we planted more columbine and delphinium along the upper part of the ditch south of the driveway.  We are enjoying the flowers currently in place, we wanted to expand on this.  What a lovely evening. After planting... dinner on the deck is becoming the norm again.
