Last week while we were in Southern California, we bought some chile pepper plants, basil and a six pack of eggplants. We came home to a crazy week at work and this evening finally had a chance to plant.

We planted 17 tomatoes today, 16 from Chuck and one from OC.. We were trying to purchase an Ace 55 (because it did so well last year) but accidentally grabbed an early girl! The tomatoes are planted in beds 11 and 12. I found a grub in bed 11 which I think was moved with a leek which we transplanted from bed 12.

The sixpack of eggplants included two each of Ichiban, Beauty, and Rosa Bianca. These are in bed number 2. I found a scary bright green worm, slightly bigger than a grub in this bed.

The chile peppers (11 total) are planted in bed 1. We had to harvest some beets, carrots and green onions to get these planted. I found a grub in this bed as well as a nasty little red larva which looked like a writhing tiny chile pepper.

I also planted three basil plants in one of the pots by the front entry. These are a bit wilty as they were neglected during this week of work so no photos.
Potatoes sprouting
Also, the potatoes began sprouting last week. All of the bags either have green showing or eruptions in progress!
