ANOTHER GREAT HARVEST!!

We harvested our eggplants today!  They are just beautiful and I can't wait to cook them!  How exciting after months of this plant doing nothing!

Eggplants and more!
The yardlong red beans have been phenomenal!  They are great producers and so tasty.  We will definitely need to plant these again next year!

Yardlong red beans, eggplants chiles
I pulled up a potato to see what was happening.  Jim is sure I killed them in June when I topped them all with straw.  We had planted them in trenches and kept burying them with more dirt every time they grew about six inches above the old ground level (as instructed).  When the the trenches were full to the top of the bed (and we were about to go on vacation for a week in June) I buried them all in straw.  When we came home, they looked miserable... virusy and many of them had not cleared the straw and seemed to have stopped growing.   This is what I read to do.  Everyone said potatoes are easy and fun.... EVERYONE can grow potatoes.  Jim thinks I killed them....
New potatoes?

Maybe he is right?  These sure do not look very impressive for potato harvest!
Giant Zucchini
The zucchini, on the other hand, seem to be taking over our kitchen!
