A VISIT FROM THE FARM ADVISOR/AG GUY!

After lots of emails and some phone calls, and lots of good electronic advice, we got a visit today from Dustin our local UCANR guy.  What a treat!  he was incredibly nice, incredibly patient and incredibly knowledgeable!  We got all of our questions answered, lots of good advice and lots to think about and process.  The bottom line seems to be we still have a ways to go to get our watering figured out.  We are watering insufficiently and too frequently.  We also need to water the entire bed... and should be planting the entire bed.  He had lots of good ideas of different ways to plant and water.

He also had interesting things to say about the orchard... sounds like this could be a lot of work. Well... we'll just see how it goes for a few years.  I still like the idea!  Definitely deer feeding on the fruit trees already!  We will have to put up the deer fences this weekend.
